Very Special Guests!
the Lodge is looking forward to welcoming some very special newly-wed guests on Friday next!
Lets hope the weather improves for Kathryn and Konrads’ first (of many we hope) stay in the lodge!
it will definitely be Bagels first time in the beautiful Lake District, but we wouldn’t advise swimming in the lakes as we don’t know the “Blue Algae” situation! I know its very early in the year, but better be safe than sorry!
Plenty of paddling opportunities though in the fresh streams and becks!
Have a lovely time lovebirds and come back soon! xxx
Easter
Hoping the current renters have had at least some dry if not warm weather!
not heard any badger news lately. Hoping they are holed up somewhere warm and cosy nurturing their latest offspring.
Please any future renters, throw out some dog biscuits and left overs. Not peanuts as they cost too much!!
Let us know of any badger and deer sitings on the Dickens Lodge Facebook page please.
Photos too if you are lucky enough to get some!
First Renters of New Season!
Really hoping that the weather is kind and mild for Beth and her Young Man!
Also hope the mild weather wakes the local badger family up!
Have fun!
2012!
Well first visit of the season and a good clean done!
Its amazing how much dust settles in the six weeks of closure!
Thanks to Andy (Cumbrian Caravans) for servicing the boiler and sorting the water so we didn’t freeze.
Also thanks to Sharon for the laundry etc and to Peter (hot tub specialist) for taking care of the tub during the closed season and getting it ready for our first guests, who are Beth Wiliamson and family.
Dissappointed not to see any badgers, but we did see a young deer behind the lodge.
Please future guests chuck out some dog biscuits to encourage them back!
Really nice to meet another York/Limefitt resident, Alison, hope to share a cuppa or a glass of wine with her in the future!
ideas for things to do

Christmas 2012!
Really surprised and pleased that next Christmas has been booked already !
Anyone want New Year whilst we think on?
Met the Doughtys!
Lovely to meet the Doughty Family after spending their third Christmas in the lodge! At least this year they didnt get snowed in, or worse, leave some presents behind in the wardrobe!
lovely to meet their beautiful 16 year old doggie too.
Happy New Year to the Doughtys and the Allan family who are there now with their lovely doggie Belle!
Merry Christmas!
A really Merry and Happy Christmas to everyone who has rented and who will rent the lodge.
A special “Thank You” to Sharon, Mark, Craig and Andy, for all their help and expertise over the last few years and years to come! You are an Amazing Team!
Last Jaunt
Just spent a couple of nights in Limefitt. Left early due to snow and more heavy (6″) on the way today. Don’t think I have ever packed and cleaned (solo) quicker! White out blizzard on M6 and same on A66. Followed snow plough on latter.
Miraculously the weather changed 5 miles south of Scotch Corner.brilliant sun in York now. Still didn’t want to risk a disaster!
Badgers visited each night and bird feeder was filled and emptied both days! left it full this morning.
Didnt even get my winter jasmine planted! Pip managed to eat the leaves and two flowers on the way. She didnt seem to come to any harm thankfully!
Anyhow, now to apply myself to christmas shopping and general preparations.
